5/1/2008We have managed to bring some sensory equipment over from England to make a start on our sensory ideas! We open the church for one morning a week for the local mums to bring their children for a time of relaxation! They love it!
4/1/2008We were priviledged to lead a number of teaching sessions on Autistic Spectrum Disorder in the very first class in Pristina! We hope this will be the start of more provision for the special needs children in Kosova.
3/1/2008Thanks to the generosity of a Freith School near Slough we were able to distribute packets of seeds to 9 families around Kosova. These seeds will be ready to help them through the autumn and winter months.Photo
2/1/2008Albion lives with his family in a small village. He was born with nerve damage that has affected his legs. He is able to walk short distances with tripod crutches which Place for Hope gave to him but it is impossible for him to walk to school. Place for Hope have fought his case with Education ministers in Kosova and Albion now has a taxi that picks him up and takes him home, along with a collapsable wheelchair! He loves school and hardly waits to get there every day!Photo
12/1/2007All the children from our little christian group loved the opportunity to get out of their small village and go sledging at the first hint of snow!!!Photo
7/1/2007Fitore is 13 and has never been able to walk properly. She lives with her 5 brothers in one room. The other rooms are for her uncles! Fitore goes to school every day in her wheelchair and gets the highest marks in all her subjects. However she is always in pain and when she is at home finds it hard to sit in a comfortable position to do her homework. Place For Hope have searched high and low and asked many doctors what can be done for this beautiful young lady, but sadly her muscles are too wasted and her bones too deformed for an operation. Any treatment will restrict her independence and she didn't want this. Photo
5/1/2007Defrim lives in a village close to Gjakova with his mum and lots of aunties and sister-in-laws. He lost his father and four of his uncles in a massacre in his village during the war. As a result he lives completely with women. Armend and Sara try to visit regularly to carry out activities with him and he is always very pleased to have some male company! Photo
5/1/2007Thanks to your generosity we have now managed to bring over our truck with the specialist chairs to Kosova. The children have been blessed and many are now able to sit and join in with the fun in the families. We now have another garage full of equipment to bring over next year!!!Photo
4/1/2007 Every fortnight children from two families get together to fellowship and learn about Jesus. We sometimes have a special meeting where we do something different for example cook hot dogs on the fire and toast marshmallows. Thanks to the generosity of a youth group from Toster we were able to bless all these children with a bible each!!!Photo
4/1/2007Kriste is 13 years old and has never been to school because it is too far for him to walk. He is unable to read, write or do basic maths. His life has been confined to being at home with his twin brother who also has Cerebral Palsy, is blind and unable to move. As such Kriste's social skills are limited. Every week, Armend and Sara visit Kriste in his home to teach him the basic skills so neccesary for life. Progress is slow but nonetheless we keep going. We also take him once a fortnight to a kids ministry in the next village where he can socialise with children his own age.Photo
3/1/2007Alban and his mum. When we first met Alban he was painfully shy and wouldnt leave his mother. Now after much time and effort he is contented to play with Armend while his mum studies the bible with Sara. They are a very poor family with difficult living conditions, so as often as we can we try to help with humanitarian aid.Photo
9/1/2006Arjon and his new chair. Place for Hope made it possible for Arjon to learn alongside children his own age at regular school. Before that he was dependent on his sister to write the classwork and he would catch up at home. Now he is independent.Photo
12/1/2006At Christmas we were blessed to be able to give every child who attends the special classes in the three schools in Gjakova as well as the children in the families we visit with a shoebox. The children who are so often forgotten about when it comes to school activities were so blessed.Photo
